WATERBURY ~ Carl A. Pelletier, Sr., 75, of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Abbott Terrace. He was the loving husband of Alice (Sullivan) Pelletier. Carl was born August 29, 1937 in Ft. Kent, Maine, son of the late Alphonse and Delia (Theriault) Pelletier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard, serving our country for 24 years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He retired as Chief Building Official from the City of Waterbury after 29 years of employment. He also worked part time in Newington, Windsor, Watertown, and Wolcott in the Building Inspection office. Carl was a devout member of the Shrine of St. Anne and served many years helping out on Bingo nights. He was a member of the Elks Club No. 265 B.P.O.E., the Waterbury Lions Club, The Catholic War Vets and the V.F.W., Post 7790 where he served as a past Commander. Besides his wife, Alice of 53 years, he leaves his sons, Carl Jr. of Waterbury, Mark and his wife, Susan of East Haven, and Wayne of Wolcott, his brothers, James Pelletier, Sr. of Wolcott and Gary Pelletier of Terryville, his sisters, Phyllis Jandreau of Ft. Kent, ME, Joan Stacy of Perth-Andover, Canada, Betty Lemay of Waterbury, and Rachel Mariano of Fincastle, VA, and his grandchildren, Andrew Lee, Jennifer, Jeff, Jamie, Jason and Erica Pelletier and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Eric, Earl and Glen and his sister, Doris Facondini. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to the Shrine of St. Anne for a funeral mass at 10 am. Burial with military honors will follow in Old St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.
