Beulah IreneHarpin (White), 93, of Wolcott, CT, passed away August 20, 2016. She was the
widow of Charles Harpin Sr, a veteran of World War II and a POW. At the age of 18, she moved to Waterbury from Fort Kent, Me to supportthe war effort byworking in the brass factory. She was one of the premier waitresses in town, working atThe Front Page and The Coney Island. Beulah loved to care for the elderly, working most of her career at Cedar Lane and Park Manor nursing homes.
After retiring, much of her time was spent on Veterans affairs. However, her biggest passion was spending time with her grandchildren, never missing one of their sporting events. She loved taking her grandchildren for fine dining at Carmen Anthony's. She enjoyed driving her red convertible around town, which she did until the age of 92. Fond memories include her water skiing wearing her fur coat, playing cards, summers on Candlewood Lake, her love of animals and of 'her' birds. Beulah was widely known for her intellectual curiosity, her feisty nature and her loving generosity.
