Obituary

WATERBURY ~ Bessie V. (Babcock) Warner, of Store Ave. passed away on Monday, December 5 at Vitas in St. Marys Hospital. She was born April 6, 1931 in Roosevelt, Long Island, to the late George and Alma (Tyler) Babcock. She was married to Clayton Edward Warner Jr. for more than fifty years, who passed in 2005. Bess retired from the Connecticut National Bank as a Banking Officer in 1993. She loved to travel with her husband and went on thirteen cruises, had a love for beaches including St. Thomas, Clinton and most recently in October had a wonderful joyous experience with her entire family in Aruba. Game night with her children was always a hoot, laughing and spending quality time with them. She also was very active with her grandchildrens lives as a fan of their sport of choice. She was an avid UCONN HUSKIES fan. Her family and friends will be missing her lunch and dinner dates that were held on a regular basis. She is survived by her children, Steven and his wife Rosie Warner of Wolcott, Jeffrey and his wife Debbie Warner of Plainville, her daughter Lori Warner Grice and her husband Christopher of Wolcott, her grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Jimi, Matthew, Christopher, Kyle, Todd, Michael, Michelle, Jimmy and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother George Babcock of Wolcott and a sister Corinne "Rene" Dickson of Waterbury. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a brother Robert Babcock and sister Louise Hughson. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, at 10:00 A.M. at the Mill Plain Union Church, 242 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott.
