BEAUMONT, TX ~ Bertha A. (Pratt) (Houde) LaPerriere, 96, formerly of Waterbury, peacefully passed into the arms of God on Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Beaumont, TX surrounded by the love of her family. Mrs. LaPerriere was born October 30, 1915 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Pelletier) Pratt. She was the widow of Robert J. Houde and Florent LaPerriere. She is survived by her daughter, Maureen (Bisaillon) Krebs of Wolcott, her daughter-in-law, Ellen Houde of Beaumont, TX with whom she made her home, four grandchildren, Michelle (Houde) Mayo, Richard Bisaillon, Renee (Houde) Eads, and Nicole (Bisaillon) Kirby, four great grandchildren, Brittany Eads, Ivy Kirby, Camille Kirby and Lane Mayo, and her brother, Raymond Pratt and family. She was predeceased by her son, Robert R. Houde. Bertha graduated St. Marys Hospital School of Nursing in 1936. She retired from the Waterbury Hospital Newborn Nursery in 1981 and remained an honorary member of the WHSN Alumni Association. She was a longtime member of the Shrine of St. Anne and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Bertha was a member of the Gadabouts which enabled her to follow her dreams of traveling all over the world. Bertha was a devout Catholic and loved Sunday services and spending time with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 9 am from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to the Shrine of St. Anne Church for a funeral mass at 10 am. Burial will follow in the Shrine of the Madonna at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 pm to 7 pm.
