BERNICE ROBERTS "SUPER" GRAMMA WOLCOTT - Bernice "Bernie" F. (Marois) Roberts, of Wolcott, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Wolcott View Manor surrounded by her family. Mrs. Roberts was born on August 7, 1936 to Charles and Doris (Marois) Pelletier in New Bedford, MA. Bernie attended Driggs Grammar School and graduated from Wilby High School in 1954. Bernie has lived in Wolcott since her marriage to Russell T. Roberts of 54 years and has 2 children; Dori and her husband Mike Quilter of Wolcott and her son, Russell C. and his wife Barbara Roberts of Southington. Prior to her marriage, Bernie worked at US Time (Timex). While raising her children, she had various part-time jobs, including teaching knitting and crocheting at G. Fox; and from 1995 to 2001 as Secretary for her husbands business, Telecomm Services. Bernie was an avid UCONN basketball fan and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family, friends, and especially her grand "angels," Brian and Laura Quilter and Rachel Roberts. Gramma was at every school activity, sports event, or dance/gymnastic performance the "angels" were involved in. Bernices family would like to extend their gratitude to Carla, formerly of the Hope Clinic; Gina and Caroline of the VNA; the staff at the Leever Center; the nurses, CNAs and the entire staff at Wolcott View Manor who cared for Bernie, as well as her family, with kindness and compassion. The calling hours for Bernice will be held at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet for the funeral mass on Saturday, at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury at 10:30 a.m. Burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
