BERNARD KNAPP
WWII U.S. Army Veteran
WATERBURY ~ Bernard Knapp, 88 of Waterbury passed away at Waterbury Hospital on Tuesday, September 21st. He was the widower of Lucy (Picard) Knapp.
Mr. Knapp was born August 18, 1922 in Colebrook, NH, son of the late Guy C. and Bertha (Goutrum) Knapp. He was a U.S. veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. He was awarded the American Defense Ribbon, the European African Mid East TH Camp Ribbon with 3 service stars and the Good Conduct Medal. He was an amateur photographer and was known as the "family photographer. He enjoyed cooking and family get-togethers. He attended St. Leo The Great Church.
He leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 28th at 11 am at St. Leo The Great Church. Burial will take place in the State V.A. Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. on Tuesday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
