CHESHIRE ~ Barbara (Bishop) Pierpont, 84, of Cheshire, formerly of Wolcott, went peacefully home to the Lord on Thursday, February 10th surrounded by her family at Elim Park Baptist Home in Cheshire. She was the widow of Clarence "Zeke" Pierpont.
Barbara was born July 31, 1926 in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Wilfred M. and Edith R. (Beattie) Bishop. Her last employment was as foster grandparent for the Wolcott School System for many years. She attended the Faith Baptist Church in Southington. In the past, Barbara had been employed at the Wolcott Public Library, the Southmayd Home and as a Fire Tower Observer for the State of CT. She was an avid bell collector and a member of the American Bell Association. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, and corresponding by computer with her friends. Barbara always enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves her children, David W. Pierpont and his wife, Beverly of Gloucester, VA, Gary L. Pierpont and his wife, Susan of Southington, Robert A. Pierpont and his wife, Judith of Wolcott, Sharon L. Pierpont of Prospect, and Sandra J. Pierpont and her husband, Joe Perugini of Tarpon Springs, FL; her five grandchildren, Andrea P. Wilson, Amber P. McLean, Aaron, Benjamin, and Timothy Pierpont, three great grandchildren, Hannah, Blake and Marissa Wilson. She was predeceased by her brother, Philip Bishop.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19th at 11 am at Elim Park, Nelson Hall, 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire, CT. Woodtick Memorial has been entrusted with the arrangements.
