With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur G. Hinman Jr., 63, who passed away peacefully at home in Wolcott on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Art was born on July 30, 1962, in Waterbury, the son of Arthur G. Hinman Sr. and the late Frances (Austin) Hinman. He was the devoted husband of Laura (Deal) Hinman for 40 years. Arthur retired from the City of Waterbury Water Department after more than 28 years of dedicated service.
An avid deer hunter and outdoorsman, Art valued hard work, loyalty, and time spent with those closest to him. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he loved them fiercely.
In addition to his wife, Laurie, and his father, Arthur Sr., he is survived by his children Arthur G. Hinman III, Timothy Hinman, and Shannon Hinman; his grandchildren Colton and Melody Hinman; his brothers George, Rich, Wayne, and Mark; his sisters Helen and JoAnn; and many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was predeceased by his mother, Frances (Austin) Hinman, and his sister, Francis (Hinman) Polletta.
He will be deeply missed by the Deal and Hinman families, as well as by the many friends who were proud to call him their own.
The family extends their sincere thanks to Compassus Hospice, especially his caregiver, Michael, for their compassion, care, and support during this time.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Arthur’s life on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Calling hours will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury. Woodtick Memorial is honored to serve the Hinman family.
