Antoinette “Ann” Walsh, 87, of Wolcott, beloved wife of Robert P. Walsh Sr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the Lutheran Home in Southbury, Connecticut.
Born in Waterbury on March 29, 1939, Ann was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Masi) Posa. She graduated from Watertown High School and made her home in Wolcott for more than 60 years.
Ann and Bob shared more than 61 years of marriage, building a life together centered on family, friendship, and community. In 1971, after operating several smaller markets, they opened Walsh's Quality Market on Meriden Road in Wolcott. More than five decades later, the family business continues to serve the community, a lasting testament to the dedication and hard work that Ann and Bob shared.
Above all, Ann was devoted to her family. A woman of great strength and determination, she always put her family's happiness and well-being at the center of her life. She especially cherished her grandson, Jaxon, whom she delighted in spoiling, and loved bringing family and friends together, particularly during the holidays.
A talented and accomplished artist, Ann expressed her creativity through painting, particularly acrylics. She was also a devoted animal lover and enjoyed traveling the world with Bob, creating wonderful memories throughout their years together.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Ann leaves her sons, Robert Walsh Jr. and Mark Walsh; her daughter-in-law, Ann; and her beloved grandson, Jaxon. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Tozzi.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ann's life on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Guests will have an opportunity to view some of Ann's artwork, share memories, and offer condolences to her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception at 74 West Main Street in Waterbury. Those attending are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Wolcott.
