Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Rickevicius, 85, of Wolcott, CT, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain after a brief illness.

Tony was born in Lithuania on August 16, 1939, the son of the late Antanas and Teofile (Packauckas) Rickevicius. The family came to the United States when Tony was ten years old, with many relatives settling in the Brooklyn section of Waterbury and surrounding areas.

He worked for 28 years as a computer programmer for The Hartford Insurance Company.

Tony was a caring father and grandfather who enjoyed a simple but practical life. He had a lifelong passion for hands-on projects and could often be found building stone walls on his property, restoring old furniture and family heirlooms like a grandfather clock, repainting his beloved old tractor, or even constructing a tennis court in the yard - all done with patience, care, and a deep sense of satisfaction. He also enjoyed daily workouts at the gym, playing chess, cards, and ping pong.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Michele, who passed away in early childhood; his brothers, Al, Vito, and Bruno; and his sister, Marie. He is survived by his son, James Rickevicius, and his wife, Kimberley, and their sons, Benjamin and Ryan; his daughter, Melissa Turlis, and her husband, Matthew, and their daughter, Rachel; his sister, Teresa Igaunis; and several nieces and nephews.

According to his wishes, a private burial will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends and family may visit www.woodtickmemorial.com to offer condolences and share a tribute.
