ANN. B. SABOTKA
WATERBURY ~ Ann B. (Stone) Sabotka, 96, of Waterbury passed away on Saturday, January 10 at Bucks Hill Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Charles Sabotka.
Mrs. Sabotka was born February 4, 1912 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Monica (Kleiva) Stokna. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and sang in the St. Josephs Lithuanian Choir. She was a devout Roman Catholic with a strong religious devotion. She became a hair stylist and opened a shop in New Haven. After moving back to Waterbury, she worked at Howland Hughes for many years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She leaves her sister, Helen Balchunas of Wolcott, her nieces, Anna and Margaret Balchunas, Therese McDonald, Patricia Gangloff, Eileen Kosarsick, Mary Gluodenis, Anne Conlon, Joan and Katherine Gorman, Margie and Anne Sweers, and Victoria Forsyth, her nephews, John Balchunas, James and Raymond Gorman, and Joseph Kazlauskas, Jr., her great nieces, Jennifer Scasino and Jessica Balchunas, and her great nephews, PFC Jonathan McDonald of Ft. Sill, OK, and Daniel McDonald.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to St. Joseph Church for a funeral mass at 11 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 am until the time of the service.
