LITCHFIELD ~ Amelia (Sprague) Lund, 95, of Litchfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Brandywine Assisted Living, surrounded by her daughters. She was the widow of Phillip J. Lund, Sr.
Mrs. Lund was born on October 7, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Edith E. (Grant) Sprague. She retired from Risdon Manufacturing Co, having worked at both the Naugatuck and Thomaston Divisions. Mrs. Lund had a love of nature and enjoyed long walks where she fed the deer and the birds along her path. She would be found at the local flea markets and tag sales, often finding a treasure to bring home. She loved her dogs and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
She leaves her daughters, Shelley Smith of Bethlehem and Pamela Lund and her husband, Paul Fleming of Litchfield and her grandchildren, Hollie Bushey, Mike Chaponis and Sarah Hawthorne. She was predeceased by her son, Phillip, Jr.
Funeral and burial services are private. Woodtick Memorial has been entrusted with her arrangements.
