ALMA M. WOODING
WOLCOTT ~ Alma M. (McLean) Wooding, 83 of Wolcott passed away on Saturday, October 3rd at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Robert Lee Wooding who passed on August 20th of this year.
Mrs. Wooding was born July 3, 1926 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Harry G. and Hazel (Akerley) McLean. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for local businesses for many years. She was a member of the Wolcott Congregational Church and was their historian for several years. She was a member of the Wolcott Historical Society, Friends of the Library and The Reading Group. She was an amateur painter and former member of the Watertown Art League. Mrs. Wooding was a former Scout leader in Southbury and was an avid reader. She loved to travel and enjoyed knitting, sewing, and gardening. She was a staunch supporter of animal rights.
A gathering for Alma and Robert will be held on Saturday, October 17th at Woodtick Memorial from 3 to 5 pm. Rev. Sue Strachan, Pastor of the Wolcott Congregational Church will deliver their Eulogies at 3 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
