Allen T. Voghel
NEW HARTFORD - Surrounded by his loving family, Allen T. Voghel was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the age of 68, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for over a year. He was the loving husband and best friend of Maria (Mancini) Voghel.
Born in Waterbury on July 18, 1955, Allen was the son of Alice (Bordeleau) Voghel and the late Joesph Voghel. He was raised in Wolcott and resided there for most of his life. He graduated from Wolcott High School, served as the Civil Preparedness Director in Wolcott for over 20 years, and volunteered for many years at the Wolcott Fair. He retired from Aetna Insurance where he worked for 33 years.
Allen loved cars and was the proud owner of a 1969 Mustang for over 50 years. He was an avid hunter and woodsman whose dream of buying property and building a home was fulfilled with Maria. He loved America and what America stood for. He was a beloved father, loyal friend, and a good husband, but his favorite role in life was being a Grandpa.
In addition to his wife Maria and his mother Alice, Allens legacy will live on in his son Derek and his wife Sarah Voghel, his son Nicholas and his wife Sara Voghel, his beloved grandchildren Callie, Lucas, Lincoln, Samuel, and Eleanor Voghel, his sister-in-law Nancy Voghel, niece Holly Pratt, and dear family member David Ablamsky. Allen is also survived by his mother-in-law Carmela Mancini, brother-in-law Michael Mancini (Linda), his sister-in-law Antonia Turner (Robert) and niece Alyssa Turner and nephew Matthew Turner. Besides his father Joseph, Allen was predeceased by his brother Henry Voghel and nephew Jared Voghel.
