Waterbury ~ Allen A. Fraser, 80, of Waterbury passed away on Tuesday, June 28th at Village Green of Waterbury. He was the husband of Lorraine (Rouillard) Fraser.
Allen was born July 17, 1930 in Oakville, son of the late Allen I. and Marion (Gray) Fraser. He served with the U.S.M.C. from 1951 - 1954 during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the UN Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the 2nd Division of 102nd Infantry of the National Guard (Bristol) for 12 years. Allen was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1979 in Wolcott and served as Quartermaster for 9 years. He was also a member of the Bristol DAV and the American Legion. He graduated from Post University with an associates degree in Accounting, and retired from Northeast Utilities after 22 years of service. Allen enjoyed gardening, NASCAR racing and the TV show, Jeopardy.
Besides his wife, Lorraine of 59 years, he leaves his sons, Mark Fraser and his wife, Jackie of FL and James Fraser and his wife, Tina of Wolcott, his sister, Margaret White of Plymouth, his brother, James Fraser of Phoenix, AZ, his grandchildren, Chad, Marc-Anthony Fraser of FL, Justin Eastwood, Michael Fraser and Carly Fraser of Wolcott, his great granddaughter, Gianna Fraser of FL, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Doris Knapik, Bessie Ashton, Marion Needham and Frederick Fraser.
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses of the 2nd shift at Village Green for their kindness and care, especially Shirley, Melissa, and Linda.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott from 5 to 8 pm with a funeral service at 7:30 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
