ALLAN R. ALBINO
WOLCOTT ~ Allan R. Albino, 70, of Wolcott passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14th at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria (Champagne) Albino.
Allan was born February 2, 1939 in Waterbury, son of the late George and Mary (Moffo) Albino. He started his career in the family business, Eagle Shoe Repair and in later years became the owner of Leader Shoe Repair and Luggage. After suffering a stroke in 2001, he overcame his physical obstacles to continue working in his beautiful garden and maintaining his apple trees and grapevines. He was also a skilled woodworker and family and friends have one of his original birdhouses that he created.
Besides his wife, Gloria of 49 years, he leaves his daughters, Donna Albino of Salem, MA and Pamela Stone and her husband, Brad of Summit, N.J., his brother, George and his wife, Elaine of Waterbury, his sisters, Geraldine Laurel of Wolcott, Carolyn Longo of Windham, NH, and Cynthia
Bennett and her husband, Paul of Waterbury, his grandchildren, Robert, Allison and Daniel Stone, his brother-in-law Lee Champagne and his wife, Judy of Brandon, FL, his sister-in-laws, Rita Brouillard and her husband, Armand of Wolcott, Cecile Wasik and her husband, Doug of Southington, Jeanie Goudreault and her husband, Henry of Waterbury, and Lucy Sexton of Waterbury, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 21st at 10 am at St. Michaels Church, 62 St. Michaels Way, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott has been entrusted with the arrangements.
