AVON — Mrs. Alice (Bordeleau) Voghel, beloved wife of the late Joseph Voghel, passed peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Avon, Connecticut, at the age of 103.
Alice was born on September 7, 1922, in Rawdon, Province of Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Patrick Bordeleau and Emilia (Sylvestre) Bordeleau. She later made her home in Connecticut and was a proud resident of Wolcott for nearly 60 years.
Alice attended the Mystic Oral School, and throughout her life she was known for her quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to family. A dedicated homemaker, she took great joy in sewing, baking, and caring for those she loved. Her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. Alice especially cherished time spent with her family and held a lifelong affection for dogs.
Alice was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother, and her legacy of love lives on through the generations she helped raise.
She is survived by her brother Henry Bordeleau and her sister Doris Loranger; her grandchildren Derek Voghel and his wife Sarah, Nicholas Voghel and his wife Sara, and Holly Pratt; her great-grandchildren Christopher Pratt, Jr., Jaxon Voghel, Callie, Lucas, Lincoln, Samuel, and Eleanor; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Joseph, Alice was predeceased by her sons Henry Voghel and Allen Voghel, and her grandson Jared Voghel. She is now reunited with her beloved family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 beginning at 12 PM at Calvary Baptist Church 3000 North Main St. Waterbury, CT 06704. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 11 AM until the beginning of the service.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Avon Health Center in Avon, Connecticut, and McLean Hospice in Simsbury, Connecticut, for their exceptional care and kindness.
Woodtick Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Voghel family. Online condolences and additional information may be found at www.woodtickmemorial.com.
