ALCALA ECHEVARRIA WATERBURY ~ Alcala Echevarria, 78, of Waterbury passed away on Wednesday, August 19th at St. Marys Hospital. Alcala was born November 30, 1930 in Guayanilla, P.R., daughter of the late Jose and Virginia (Lugo) Echevarria. She had been employed at the Waterbury Casa Bienvenida and had attended St. Cecilia Church. She enjoyed cooking and was a fan of the TV Food Channel. Besides taking care of her grandchildren, she enjoyed crocheting. She leaves her sons, Jose and Elidio Garcia and Veni Echevarria, all of Waterbury, her daughter, Lydia Bozenski of Naugatuck, 5 brothers, 6 sisters, her grandchildren, Allyssa, Amanda, Kelli, and Keri, and her great granddaughter, Alina Rose. Family and friends may call at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott on Friday from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral and burial services will take place in Puerto Rico.
