Albert Petrone of East Main Street, Waterbury passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Emily (Marabottini) Petrone.
Albert was born in Waterbury on May 28, 1922 to Angelo & Maria (Jacovino) Petrone. He was a lifelong resident of Waterbury, employed at Scovill Manufacturing and Century Brass. During that time, he was a passionate Duck Pin Bowler, often taking home the "High Score Trophy.
As a World War II Veteran, Albert served from 1942 - 1945 as a Coast Guard Seaman First Class, seeing action in the Pacific Campaigns.
He is survived by two daughters, Arlene Poucher and her husband James of Wolcott, Diane Smith and her husband Robert of Carlisle Iowa, and one son, David Petrone and his wife Susan of Waterbury.
Al is also survived by four grandchildren, Alicia Bratton and her husband Ben of Fairfield, James Poucher and his wife Jennifer of Fairfield, Shannon Roberts and her husband Darren of Des Moines Iowa, DJ Bilodeau of Waterbury and seven great grandchildren, Lauren & Alex Bratton; William, Annabelle & Andrew Poucher; Ryder & Paxton Roberts and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Orlando (Ozzie) Petrone, Ella (Perugini) Cecilio, Helen (Lee) Hallock, and John Petrone.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Waterbury Hospitals Emergency Dept, Telemetry Unit, Surgical ICU and the 5th Floor for their excellent care during his illness.
There are no calling hours. Please join us for Mass on Tuesday, May 3, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
