WOLCOTT ~ Adolph Pecka, 78, of Wolcott died Saturday, June 19th at the Masonic Healthcare Center. He wasa devoted husband to Lois (Asetta) Pecka.
Adolph was born October 21, 1931 in Waterbury, son of the late Frank and Katarzyna (Czaja) Pecka. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, havingserved during the Korean War. He retired from the Local 24 Carpenter's Unionand was a state certified welder. Adolph was a champion race car driver at Plainville Stadium and an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed restoring his 1920s Farmall tractor which he proudly drove in the Memorial Day parade.
Besides Lois, his wife of 56 years, he leavesfour children: Lori Pelletier and her husband Rich of Wolcott, Tom and his wife Trisha of South Windsor, Colleen of Fairfield and Tim of Cheshire. Also,grandchildren Ryan and Kristen Pelletier, Justin, Brittany and JasonPecka, great grandson, Charlie, sisters Helen Williams of Wolcott andKatherine Parlo of CA and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Friends are asked to meet at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.
