CHESHIRE- Timothy John Pecka, 59, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 21st at his home in Cheshire.

Tim was born on August 1, 1964 in Waterbury, son of Lois (Asetta) Pecka of Wolcott the late Adolph Pecka. He loved everyone he met and had a special love for his family. He was always happy with a smile that made all want to smile back. In early years, he attended classes at Wolcott Congregational Church and graduated from the classes in Plainville. He had many friends and peers. He loved to bowl, dance, listen to Kenny Rogers, take walks, work at his desk and go on annual vacations.

For over 20 years Tim worked at Gene’s Kitchen in Plantsville, where he was treated as part of their family. He was currently working at Easter Seals and enjoying his life. Tim was awarded “Poster Child of the Year” in 1975 and received a savings bond from the late Governor Ella T. Grasso. He earned a bronze medal at the Special Olympics in New Milford from the Kennedy Foundation. He was named ambassador of the year by former Wolcott Mayor Joseph Lango. In 1999 he received a special award from the Wolcott Circle of Sports for outstanding accomplishments. He was an active participant in the Wolcott Special Games winning several medals annually.

In addition to his mother Lois Pecka of Wolcott, Tim leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Lori Pelletier and her husband Rich of Wolcott, Colleen Sylvia and her husband Manny of Newtown, his brother Thomas Pecka and his wife Trish of South Windsor, and several nieces and nephews.
