Naugatuck – Rita C. (Cyr) Cicchetti, 95, of Naugatuck passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, November 26, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. She was the widow of Mr. Armand Cicchetti.
Rita was born on March 29, 1922, in St. John, Maine, daughter of the late Mack and Bertha (Vallaincourt) Cyr. Rita was a longtime communicant of the Shrine of St. Anne’s in Waterbury where she was a member of the St. Anne’s Ladies Guild. She enjoyed knitting, reading, crossword puzzles and cherished the time she was able to spend with her loving family.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Pia Behlman and her husband Steven of Naugatuck; two grandsons, Steven Behlman Jr., and David Behlman; two great-grandchildren Aria and Grant Behlman; seven sisters, Jeanine Daigle, Geneva Guerrette, Jacqueline DuPont, Madeleine Normandin, Marilyn Butkus, Marie Mazzaluppo, and Frances St. Hilaire; one brother Donald Cyr; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.
Rita’s family would like to thank the VITAS Hospice and her longtime caregiver Amelia Gomes for the love and care shown towards Rita.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 30 at 10:00 A.M. at the Shrine of St. Anne’s, 515 S Main St, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rita’s name to the Shrine of St. Anne’s, 515 S Main St, Waterbury.
