Mary, I remember you and your children, especially Sharon who I was friends with every summer at your parents home. Mr and Mrs. Coffey. You were always kind and good to me . I just saw the posting about the memorial built in Wolcott for the founding members of the WVAA and I was so sad to hear of your leaving our world. I remember in January of 1975 you came in an ambulance to pick up my dad who had a heart attack and died that day. You were so responsible and intent on getting him to the hospital yet so kind to my mother and me knowing us personally and all. May God be with you still in heaven and protecting you and your husband and parents and friends.
Sharon, I hope you remember me and are happy in life. My gmail is above. I’m still very close to friends from Wolcott all these years later as they have moved south. We keep in touch by phone and Facebook . Love to you and your siblings.

Big Sam,
I remember all the good times, camping, fire department times, parades and all kinds of Wolcott good times. Rest in peace my friend. I don't think I have made Rock & Rye since that last time you had it at my house. You will be missed but your family is carrying on the tradition of camping and enjoying the outdoors. Say Hi to George and have a drink by the fire for me.

I will miss our back door conversations, you always put others first. Each time I asked how you were doing, you turned the focus on to my family. You were an amazing, kind and thoughtful person. You will be missed, but certainly always remembered.

I was saddened to hear of Capt. Mary's passing. Mary was a kind hearted soul who always put 200% into everything she did. I met Mary by "accident". I was hit by a car back in 1979. She was on the ambulance crew from WVAA that picked me up. I then became very interested in the EMT class at the high school. I rode with WVAA on Fridays and Capt. Mary was the crew chief. I had learned so much from her over the years. She was one of several members who inspired me to stay in the medical field. I am now a nurse and have very fond memories of EMS! My heart and prayers go out to John, Valerie and the Ostrander family. Godspeed Capt. Mary- I'll miss you!

I have many memories from my childhood of Mrs. (and Mr.) Ostrander, my parents, and all assortment of children, pets, friends, etc. There were many parades, WFD#3 dinners, family picnics, etc. I'm glad they are all together again.

Mary Ostrander, AKA "MOE" wow Mary Ostrander I love you more then words can say, you have always been my rock..the Mom I didn't have and one of my closest friends, I love you so much...Hell I remember us having tea by the fire place and having a skunk join us, yet we both had to pee for hours neither would move so we didn't get sprayed..Our many trips to the mall, the Summer House and shopping for anything from tag sales to mall trips, planting flowers, you and I working so hard on what craft we would do with the kids, and yes your BINGO games that I would come and help you with we sure were a good team and friends to the end ( your love for BINGO made me laugh and your face when I said it was like watching pain dry)...You sitting on the picnic table eating ice cream instead of real food it always brought a smile to your face.......Teaching the kids about your indians, your dolls and most important your stories of days gone past, I know they all had a better understanding of service with the fire dept and arm services from all your stories and experiences never a peep when you were telling a story, you enriched many lives. I don't believe there is one moment in each others life that we haven't shared....I love you, I am a better person because of you...you didn't have a easy life but you made it work, we both took on our grandchildren to raise and love, and our families always came first...my friends and family were your friends the fabric of our lives have been woven together by the man up stairs and I have never questioned it, or doubted our friendship ever, just had to pinch myself because I feel blessed to have you as part of my life..Our phone calls at times lasted longer then a life time movie yet we still found things to laugh and cry about. I remember watching the sun come up in the morning still talking to each other and always having something to say..I miss you already...Your the one dreams of having I love and cherish you with my whole heart....all your service at all the many campgrounds the service and the fire dept yet you always gave 110% never to complain I admired your so much of your time and energy to everyone else we are all better people because of you my good friend i love you always....thanks so much for the sign....I knew you would you always kept your word hugs to heaven....

Dear John, Sharon and Debbie,

I was saddened to see of Mary's passing. She was such a vibrant person, and even though we hadn't been neighbors in a long time, I used to see her at the hospital when she worked as an EMT, and it was always so nice to reconnect with her. May you find peace knowing that she is at rest and in a place where there is no pain and suffering.

With my deepest condolences, Jackie (Bellemare-Banks) Ciarlelli

So long for now dear friend, we'll miss your smile and sense of humor. Rest in peace, Mary, and sing hymns with the angels, I think you'd like that. Just think, no more aches and pains, Praise God for that and we'll see you later and we'll sit around the campfire and talk "family"!
