Imelda M Wallace

Wolcott – Imelda M. Wallace, 82, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020.

Imelda was born in Waterbury on April 9, 1938, daughter of the late Henri and Rose (Pelletier) Madore. Imelda worked as a secretary for Driggs Elementary School and enjoyed the kids. She was a member of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church Choir. She was active in book clubs with the girls, and enjoyed going out with the Rose Pizza crew. Imelda loved spending time with her grandchildren, her pets, and granddogs; and had a special knack with caring for cacti. She also enjoyed traveling with her brother.

Imelda leaves behind her sons, Scott Wallace, and his wife, Doreen, of Wolcott; and Richard Wallace, and his wife, Michelle, of Oakville; her daughter, Susan Paxton, and her husband, Donald, of Southington; her brother, H. Paul Madore, and his wife, Dace, of Rochester, NY; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Wallace, and his wife, Kara; Katie Wallace, and her fiancé, Chris Fratea; Ryne Wallace, and his fiancée, Sarah White; Meghan Gaber, and her husband, Ken; Timothy Gibbons; and Benjamin Gibbons; 1 great grandchild, Gabriella Wallace; her second great grandchild, Baby Gaber, to be born in December; many nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.

Imelda was predeceased by her sisters, Claudette Murphy and Madeline Jannetty.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Due to restrictions on gatherings, you are kindly asked to leave after paying your respects to allow the next group to enter.A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W. Main St. Waterbury. Meet directly at church. Masks are required for mass.
